BREWERIES

Brave Noise is a global collaborative effort to provide inclusive and safe environments for women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ throughout the beer industry. By brewing this beer, your brewery is standing in solidarity with those who shared their stories about mistreatment and who are survivors of gender discrimination, racism, sexual assault, and harassment within the industry. By standing with us now, you are part of the movement for change that is long overdue in beer.

Beer has always been a great unifier. Let’s come together, discuss how we can do better, and create inclusive and safe environments for our staff and consumers.

Take the next steps and let’s build our (beer) community for the better.

Step 1

Fill out this form and include a link to your Code of Conduct.

Step 2

Brew Brave Noise Pale Ale and publish your Code of Conduct for staff and customers upon its release.

Step 3

Make a donation to a relevant charitable or non-profit organization. We encourage breweries to donate a majority of the sales to an organization that best supports the mission of this collaboration. View a list of recommended organizations here.

Step 4

Make a Commitment to Change. Commit to the long-term work for inclusive and safe environments to best support staff and customers.

Join Us

After submitting the form above you will receive a confirmation email with the Brave Noise Pale Ale Recipe, label, and social media graphics.

Please release your rendition of Brave Noise Pale Ale before the end of December 2021 (extended from October 2021). By keeping the releases within a set time frame, we will be able to make the loudest noise possible.

Your Code of Conduct, House Rules, or Values Statement supports an inclusive environment and outlines what resources are available for your staff and customers. If you need help with your Code of Conduct, please see the guide provided here. If you need further assistance you can reach out to Rebecca Weaver at HRUprise (rebecca@hruprise.com) for additional consulting.

Your Code of Conduct can be published through a QR code either on the label or at your place of business. QR code support is available if needed.

Click here for a list of suggested donation recipients. If you have a local resource that reflects our initiative and goals that is not on our list of organizations, please reach out to us so that we can review and add them to our list. hello@bravenoisebeer.com

Brave Noise's mission is one step in the direction of change within the beer industry. Though we cannot legally hold breweries accountable for any abusive acts, we do our diligence to discuss any allegations with breweries who have submitted to participate in the collaboration and provide them with resources and suggestions on how to take action. We can only do so much which is why we need the entire beer community looking out for one another. If you see something, say something. If a brewery has recently been involved in an allegation and is working through the steps for change, that is ultimately our goal: change. We reserve the right to not promote any brewery on social media, the website, and any other distribution platforms for the Brave Noise collab until we know the correct actions (yes, that was meant to be plural) have been made. Brave Noise is not a shield. It is a step in committing to long-term work.

Any breweries that are currently participating in Brave Noise or are interested in doing so that have new or unaddressed allegations against them will be expected to publicly share how the matter has been addressed and what action is being taken. These statements will be reviewed before participation proceeds. If you have any questions about this process please reach out to hello@bravenoisebeer.com
